Privacy Policy

Who I am

This website, iamshubham.net, is run by Shubham Tiwari, a freelance web developer based in India. In this policy, “I” and “me” mean Shubham Tiwari. I am responsible for the personal data described here.

I aim to handle personal data in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, for visitors in the European Union and United Kingdom, the GDPR.

What I collect

  • Contact form: your name, email address, the service you are interested in, and whatever you write in your message.
  • Email: your email address and the content of any messages you send me.
  • Booking a call: your name, email address, the time you choose and any notes you add, collected by Calendly.
  • Project work: if you hire me, the files, logins and business details you share so I can do the work, plus invoicing details such as your business name and billing address.
  • Technical data: Hostinger and Google Analytics may record your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you visit and the time of your visit.

I don’t need sensitive information such as health details, government ID numbers or bank account numbers, so please don’t send them.

How I use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and schedule a call.
  • To prepare quotes and agree the scope of a project.
  • To build, deliver, invoice and support the work you hire me for.
  • To keep this website secure and working properly.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

I don’t sell your personal data, I don’t use it for advertising, and I don’t add you to a mailing list unless you ask. I don’t make automated decisions about you.

Why I'm allowed to use it

Where the law requires a reason for using your data, mine are: your consent (when you submit the form or email me), steps needed to prepare or carry out a contract with you, my legitimate interest in running and securing a business website, and legal obligations such as keeping tax records.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing me. That won’t affect anything I did before you withdrew it.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses only essential cookies and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with its pages and improve the user experience.

I don’t use advertising cookies. Embedded tools, such as a booking calendar, may set their own cookies, which are covered by their own privacy policies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.

Who I share it with

I share personal data only with the service providers I need to run this site and my business, and only what they need:

  • Email: Google Workspace 
  • Booking: Calendly
  • Payments: PayPal. These providers handle your payment details under their own privacy policies. I never see your full card number.

I may also disclose data if the law or a court requires it. I never sell it.

Data outside your country

I work from India, and my providers may store data on servers in other countries. Where I can, I choose providers with recognised safeguards. By contacting me, you understand that your data may be processed outside the country where you live.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don’t become projects: deleted after 06 months.
  • Invoices and client records: kept for atleast 1 or 2 years, as tax and accounting rules require.
  • Project files and logins: deleted 30 days after handover, unless you ask me to keep them.

You can ask me to delete your data sooner. See “Your rights” below.

Keeping it safe

This site uses HTTPS. I use strong passwords and two-factor authentication where it’s available, and I keep access to your data to myself. No system is perfectly secure. If I learn of a breach that affects your data, I’ll tell you promptly and as the law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal data I hold about you and get a copy;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data deleted;
  • withdraw your consent;
  • object to or restrict certain uses of your data;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights for you, if you are unable to.

To use any of them, email hello@iamshubham.net. I’ll reply within 14 days, and I may need to confirm who you are first.

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Children

This site is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. I don’t knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think a child has sent me their data, email me and I’ll delete it.

Links to other sites

This site links to other websites, such as my sample builds, GitHub and LinkedIn. They have their own privacy policies, and I’m not responsible for how they handle your data.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how I use data you’ve already given me, I’ll tell you directly.
